The 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica remains our absolute favorite place to shop. Not only is this strip expansive, clean and beautiful, but its nestled right up against Santa Monica Pier and beach. We love the idea that we can shop till we drop then catch a sunset or take a cheeky little stroll along the beach path.
Last Saturday we took our cameras and gift cards and tried our luck at the post holiday season sales.
TIP: Get there early for the best parking and the smaller crowds – and as a bonus – you get the Farmer’s Market! The Market is located on Arizona Avenue between Second and Third Street and is open on Wednesdays from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm and Saturdays from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm.
We meandered through the main isle on Broadway perusing piles of local vegetables and jams. There are so many vendors selling a range of products from produce to honeys, olives and fresh meats. There are even flower stands and herb sellers.
Loee bought some of her treasured Apple Butter. I bought some dried lavender for my drawers and pillows 🙂
After the market we walked down to the mall at the end of the Promenade called Santa Monica Place.
We bopped around Nordstroms, AE, ANGL, and Free People. Loee bought a cute new baseball cap and I got my Pandora bracelet cleaned at the Pandora store. The mall is an open air atrium style with dining on the top floor (including a wine bar!) mid range shops like AE on the 2nd floor and the ground floor has higher-end boutiques like White House Black Market, Louis Vuitton and Armani Exchange.
We left Nordstrom and began the long trek down the Promenade. We started at Pac Sun then made our way through H&M (which we returned to a 2nd time with better luck due to smaller late afternoon crowds). We got lost in Forever 21 and Sephora. We smelled all the perfumes in Victoria Secret and found some wonderful deals on shoes. DB Shoes is an awesome two story shoe shoppe and we always find a new pair.
We didn’t make it into Madewell or Brandy Melville (two of our favorite stores) this time around. However, we will be journeying back closer to the Spring I am sure.
We had a nice long and late lunch at one of our favorite LA restaurants, Tender Greens, and got to catch up and talk about new blogs for the future 😉
Here is a glimpse at our day in review and check out our new EATS post on Tender Greens!
